Hi, my name is Sherry Wilkins. I've been making beaded jewelry off and on for over 27 years. I have always loved to create and make beautiful things for people to wear. My first experience with beads was in my 7th grade junior high art class. We were given the assignment to make something out of clay. No molds were to be used. So, I made beads. Painstakingly forming the beads and then painting the different colors of glaze on them. The teacher kiln-fired the clay items and the following week, he put them out on a table in the classroom for the students to pick up. I guess my beads were quite spectacular - I never got to see them. Someone had stolen them in the period before my class. Who says beads aren't addictive?? So, if anyone that attended Annapolis Junior High School and was in the 7th grade in 1974 and knows what happened to my orange and yellow ceramic beads - Be sure to contact me!! From there, I started making macramé earrings with tiny wooden and porcelain beads. I actually sold these for $2.00 in my Aunt and Uncle's country store. I still have some of those earrings too. Over the years my designs have evolved a lot! Now, lampworked glass is one of my specialties. If you have never seen artisan made lampwork glass, I invite to see some of the most extraordinary and unique artwear you will ever lay your eyes upon. And, of course I have to give my husband, Ken, credit. He is the extraordinary webmaster for this site. And, always a driving force and continual support to all my artistic endeavors.
More about us ! West Virginia Whitewater! Our Pets About Teays River Jewelry About the jewelry I make. I've been at this for quite a few years. I use only the best components I can find. The beading wire used is 49 strand, 40 pound test strength. It is strong and durable. I want your jewelry to last for many years. Lobster claw clasps are 14 kt gold fill. These clasps are durable and secure. I use these because they are very pretty and secure. Also, they do not take up design space like the other larger clasps. They add beauty to the jewelry that will last. Gold adds a richness to jewelry that is wonderful. I also like the fact that it doesn't need to be constantly polished to maintain a shine. The chain links are also 14kt gold fill. The tiny spacer beads are pewter with a gold finish. And of course those other sparkly glass beads are Swarovski Austrian crystal - the finest in the world. Please e-mail me if you have any questions about my jewelry, how it is made or the components used. I do offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. See the "How to buy" page for more details.
